What You Need to Know
If you are interested in commissioning a photographic portrait, you may want to know a little more about what it will involve. When you commission a portrait from Nadia Calipa, you are not buying a standard product like an ordinary studio session – every portrait is unique and so is the experience. In the first instance, Nadia will meet with you to discuss what you want, get a feel for your personality and what you are looking for from the portrait. She will then come up with some ideas of possible settings and scenes and will agree a creative concept with you – this can take a few days to think through so you may need to be patient. Nadia will look for, and find, a suitable location for the shoot – it may be at your home, or somewhere else, like the beach or woods.
Nadia has an extensive wardrobe and on the day of the shoot she will bring clothes and props to the location – and might ask you to bring your own things too. It can take time to set up a shoot so there may be some time spent to get the location dressed and ready for action.
The shoot itself will typically take up to 2 hours and may include a number of different set-ups and outfits. Once the shoot is complete, Nadia will meet with you to show you the results – she will show you an edited selection of the best pictures and discuss with you which you like.
You can have prints made of several pictures – as many you wish – and Nadia can also give you advice on how to frame and present the shots to their best advantage. If you would like to contact Nadia then please do so via her Contact page
